Sunday\, March 1st\, is the last day of the season for skating at Campbell Park. This weekend will be your final chance to do some pleasure skating or playing shinny.

Pleasure skating is on Saturday from 11am-12pm\, and 4pm-6pm. During the afternoon pleasure skate\, park staff serve up free hot chocolate and donuts cooked on the campfire.

A full schedule of skating / shinny times is available on the City Rinks website.

Skating season may be ending\, but hey\, that means spring is just around the corner.

Thank you for your well written letter regarding the hydro power cut-off on January 15th and January 16th\, 2009.

I have discussed improvement / preventative measures with David O’Brian\, CEO of Toronto Hydro and yes\, I will call for a follow-up meeting to the one held last Thursday in Parkdale.

A number of issues should be discussed at this meeting among them\:

  1. Improvements by Hydro to the Bloor / Dufferin automated transformer station.
  2. Improvements to the Emergency response communication system

The meeting date will be March 31st 2009 at 7\:15 pm at Casa de Alentejo\, located at 1130 Dupont Street.
