Thai Lime - great takeout - even nicer inside!

So - not only were we really pleasantly surpirsed by the quality of food (curry pad thai was great) when I got home, but when I picked it up - it's not a take out joint - it's a very tastefully done, dining restaurant. Well done, modern appeal, nice lighting (ie. not flourescent tubes!). Really nice, well spoken hosts (owners, I presume).

They've done a great job, and offer $5 off orders over $20 as an grand opening deal - they really deserve our community support for what they have done here.

It's in the strip mall on the south end of Dupont, between Perth and Franklin - near Sham Shwarma (which also impressed me). These are great neighbourhood changes. You couldn't be disappointed...

Good to hear feedback about Thai Lime. I have yet to drop by but our regulars have had great things to say as well.
Good on you folks over there. Makes our 'hood just that much better.

Critic...hardly...facts are facts...when a place gets a yellow(as recently as Dec 12) and they mention inadequate food temperature control and you're dealing with chicken, i'm not trying to be critical, it just worries me:

I've had multiple experiences at Piri Piri as well where the servers used the same dipping sauce when they cleared other tables. The owner was very apologetic and offered a free dinner, but all I'm saying is many of those places get sloppy and it's unacceptable.

Hey Phil,

You should probably check with the City other then follow what a Blog has posted.

Eduarda's Passed with a Green (as recenlty as Dec 19th) There have been better places then this that have gotten a Yellow before and will in the future. The fact that they worked to get a pass in one week sounds like they actually care about their customers and the food they prepair.

good on them! p

good on them!

Agreed!

Absolutely agree on Thai Lime...food is very good and the interior of the spot makes you pull a double take on where you actually are. Let's support this place. And oh, the Sharwma place next door is pretty solid too! Good on these folks for coming into the neighborhood with something different. You grow a bit tired when all you can get within walking distance of the area is Portuguese chicken(and I wouldn't trust Eduarda's on Dupont if it was the last meal I was to have)

Last time I check, Eduarda's had a Green Pass Sign

MY MY, anonymous person, aka:food critic.

Last time I checked Eduarda's had a Green Sign from the City. The staff their work very hard to put out food for their regulars and occusional customer like me. I don't go everyday, but at times when I don't want to cook, I buy a Chicken and other food from them. They are very nice hard working people, who serve mostly the portuguese community of the junction triangle. Comments like this makes me want to eat their even more and even more when you make comments like this and don't write your name.

Also everyone(business) is trying to make a living and surviving during these hard times. JF

I've always enjoyed the food at Eduarda's too, though I've been going to Arcuense (at Dupont and Frankiln) more often lately.

I'm not going to comment on the cleanliness of any of these places, but anyone who is concerned about any establishment should check the Dinesafe listing at: http://www.toronto.ca/health/dinesafe/ [Link Corrected]

I've been there twice now

I agree -- the food is really good. I'm getting hungry just thinking about their pad thai. Mmmmm, pad thai.... Also, the meal for two really feeds three people, and the interior is cozy, attractive, and clean. I would also recommend it.

I actually stopped by today

I actually stopped by today and got some take out (Mango chicken, and some spring rolls). The food was actually very delicious as you said, and it exceeded my expectations. And the place looks quite nice and cozy inside, I definitely want to eat in one day as it looks quite comfy. The young lady that was working in the front was very welcoming and kind which was great. I was glad I gave their food a try. I definitely want to order some other items on their menu, there were quite a bit I had wanted to try but only so much I can eat at once. All in all, I wasn't disappointed as you said. Thanks for the referral.
