We are a small business in the Junction triangle, looking for someone who would enjoy a part time position position with a nice office and pretty good flexibility. The job consists of various standard book-keeping functions, in addition to being involved in some of the detail oriented day to day work and/or being available, on site, twice a week to help other staff who assist with the AR and AP. The store changes very often to give customers something to come back and look forward to. Come and find your treasure and while you're here, grab a cup of coffee supplied from a non-profit organization in Toronto! The store hours are Sundays through Fridays - 11 am to 5 pm, Mondays - Closed, Saturdays 11 to 7.

Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (MoCCA) - Sterling Rd.

This morning it was announced that the Museum of Canadian Comtemporary Art (MoCCA) will be moving in to the former Tower Automotive building on Sterling Rd.

MoCCA is considering the lease on this two-floor space their new "permanent" home, and will be the anchor tenant of this refurbished heritage structure. "Renovation of the c.1919 industrial heritage building has been approved and construction will begin as early as the fall of 2015, with a target for completion in the winter of 2016-17."

Hi, I am considering opening up a salon on dupont west of symington and am wondering what local businesses and residents think about this. I know there are already, or have been salons open in this neighbourhood. I have been in a nearby neighbourhood(for 7 years) renting a chair and am considering opening up my own shop. The price point would be approx $30 for mens cuts and $55/60 for women's cuts. I would also be offering all other hair services, colouring, up do's etc. I come with a pretty full clientele, but want to bring other stylists.

Sterling Social has recently opened up at 1421 Bloor St. W, at the corner of Sterling Rd. Previously in this location was Good Times Bad Times tea/coffee shop, a succession of corner stores, etc. (here is a 1934 photo).

Sterling Social features freshly-made sandwiches, soups, yogurt, desserts, coffee etc.

A new Toronto-based company, SonderMill.com, will be hosting a pop-up shop event this Friday and Saturday at Metropolis Factory, 50 Edwin Ave.

The event is free and open to the public. There will be over 100 unique, handcrafted products showcased and available for sales; furniture, lighting, mirrors, decor and other home furnishings. All items are made independent makers and artisans, primarily from Toronto, but some others will be featuring from Montreal, New York, Los Angeles, Portland and Nashville.
