Campbell and Wallace-Emerson Rink open today (Sat Dec 3)

Hello everyone.

Skating season began this morning at Campbell and Wallace-Emerson outdoor ice rinks. Wallace-Emerson, located next to the community centre at Dufferin and Dupont, is a double outdoor rink. This means there is pleasure-skating and hockey all day long. Campbell is a single pad rink. Most of the schedule is hockey but there are three pleasure-skating times Saturday 4-6pm, Sunday 1-3pm and Wednesday 4-6pm. (The Wednesday time slot is new. Monday pleasure-skating wasn't successful so staff are trying a new day.) Both rinks offer $2 skate loans. Please bring some government-issued ID such as a driver's licence. Both rinks also have snackbars. This year they have new kitchens allowing staff to offer a greater variety of food. See you on the ice!

Wallace opens at 9am

Wallace-Emerson rink officially opens at 9am. That's when the changeroom is unlocked and skate rentals start. However, if you are willing to change outside, you can skate before then because the pleasure skating pad has no gates.

Reminder: Wednesday evening pleasure skating and campfire

Just a friendly reminder that Campbell has a new pleasure-skating time-slot 4-6pm every Wednesday. There will also be a campfire.

Possible lockout of city staff in January

Hi Sharon,

Campbell is scheduled to close at the end of February as in past years, but there could be a lockout of city staff in the middle of January.

campbell closing??

hi michael...i have heard that campbell park rink may not be in operation after december...can you confirm or deny this? it would be such a shame to lose our rink!

Hey Michael, will there be any music with the pleasure skating like last year? I was just at Harbour Front rink last night and they have a DJ Saturday nights. It was a blast!! People even dress up in wigs and costumes.
