Perth Public School: update about grades 7/8 expansion

As of 9 February, 2011

  • On Friday February 4th, Curtis Ennis met with the Central Feasibility Committee (Superintendent) to present the Grade 7/8 demand at Perth P.S.
  • The Central Feasibility Committee has not denied or approved this request.
  • The next plan of action will be, in April they are sending a Board Planner to the school to undertake a full study of the facilities.
  • Once this assessment of the facilities takes place, the Committee will then make a decision and let us know.

Maria Rodrigues promised that if elected, she would see through with this project. I have contacted her and asked to give this project a push and am awaiting a response. Her email is, maria.rodrigues@tdsb.on.ca if anyone has any questions or inquiries.

Hi everyone,

In October SAC invited Curtis and Maria Rodrigues to attend their meeting to discuss the demand for grades 7/8 and FI. (see previous notes) Maria Rodrigues promised to follow through and see this project to the end. The next step was for her to meet with a board and discuss this in January.

Currently - The school principal and I met with Curtis on two other occasions to discuss the immediate school community needs for a grade 7/8. With Kent closing, Perth P.S. children do not have a viable school to go to.

Tomorrow (February 4th, 2011) Curtis Ennis (superintendent) will be our school community voice. He will be meeting with the CENTRAL FEASIBLITY COMMITTEE and presenting the demand for a grade 7/8 in this community.

I will follow up with another update upon hearing the results.

Sincerely,
Carla Arruda
