The Georgetown South Project will provide infrastructure improvements to meet existing GO Transit ridership demand and future growth. It will also accommodate the new Air Rail Link service between Union Station and Pearson International Airport.

West Toronto Diamond Construction Update:

Road Closure – June 15 to November 15

A full road closure at the intersection of Old Weston Road and Junction Road is necessary for pile validation work across the road. Soil will be removed from within the pipe piles and replaced with concrete and sealing materials to create water-tight walls for the train underpass. A small number of piles will be removed using vibration methods and replacement piles will be installed using a combination of vibration and some impact hammer. For safety reasons, pedestrian access will also be closed during this time. Signage will be posted in the neighbourhood prior to the road closure.

Extended Work Hours – July 2 to 17

During CP Rail’s annual track closure, we will complete the pile validation work beneath the connecting tracks. We expect to work between 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. each day, including Saturday and Sunday, because of the tight timeline.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience during construction and particularly during the road closure and extended work hours. We appreciate your continued patience as we work to complete the work as quickly as possible.

Public Open House

GO Transit is in the second last phase of construction at the West Toronto Diamond. Please join us at our open house to find out what’s been completed to date, what you can expect during the road closure and extended work hours, and what’s next as we work towards beginning the excavation of the underpass. GO Transit staff will be on hand to answer your questions.
