Greetings,

This is an invitation for you to join us this Wednesday evening for a town hall meeting in Davenport to address poverty reduction and to bring forward your struggles and ideas for change. This meeting has been organized by the Davenport West Income Security Council. A printable poster is attached. Please use it to promote the event.

Town Hall Format:

1) Panel Presentation: Community members will outline their concerns re. poverty/poverty reduction

2) Discussion Groups: Small discussion groups, organized by topic (OW, ODSP, Housing, Parenting & Childcare, Health, Food, Education/Public Infrastructure/Community Resources, Racialization of Poverty) will answer the following questions:

• What increases poverty for you and your community?
• What must the government do to reduce poverty?

Each group will generate questions to ask the Minister

3) Question Period: Address your questions to Chair of the Cabinet Committee on Poverty Reduction, Deb Matthews
