A news story and an Op Ed piece in the Star continue to question the rationale for how Metrolinx has "planned" the airport link.

Federal NDP member for Weston ( already pretty knowledgeable on rail issues) covers off all of the basic issues about the APL that will come back to haunt us.

Interestingly enough this story about how the ARL actually does little for the majority of Pearson users highlights how poorly this whole thing has been implemented. Basically GO brought a 1991 plan back to life without any new studies. Finally Metrolinx's own studies call into question the use of diesel and the way the entire ARL is being done. Dalton has forced a second rate rail plan on us that was envisioned before the population of the GTA exploded. If you are a business traveler coming from downtown, good for you. If you are a resident of the GTA, not so good.
