Ward 18 Environment Day

Info from Councillor Giambrone's Ward 18 E-Newsletter:

Ward 18 will be hosting its Environment Day on Sunday, July 11 from 10:00am to 2:00pm in the Dufferin Mall parking lot.

Leaf compost will be available for free. You can also exchange a damaged green bin for a new one at no charge.

Residents will be able to purchase a Backyard Composter ($15), Green Bin ($18), Kitchen Container ($5), Indoor Water Efficiency Kit ($10), or Rain Barrel ($85).

Residents are also encouraged to drop off items such as old electronics, paint, batteries, and propane tanks for safe disposal and recycling. Donations of items such as clothing, books, CDs, and non-perishable foods will also be collected for reuse.

For more information on Environment Day and what you can drop off for disposal, please visit http://www.toronto.ca/environment_days/activities.htm

Note: From past experience, if you want to get any of the free leaf compost, you need to show up earlier in the day. It goes quickly.
