Community meetings

Rail Committee Meeting

From the Junction Triangle Rail Committee:

The Junction Triangle Rail Committee will be holding a planning meeting this Tuesday, November 2 at 7 p.m. at Boo Radley's on Dupont. The committee will be discussing plans for the upcoming year after a successful series of neighbourhood picnics with musical performances, a great all candidates event and a Nuit Blanche exhibit that helped spread news of the Metrolinx diesel plans to thousands of people.

If you are interested in helping fight for electric trains, please join us. Membership in the committee is open to anyone interested.

Junction Triangle Planning Charrette

Your neighbourhood is changing!

The Tower Automotive buildings have been demolished. Townhouses and apartments have been constructed. More new development is imminent. Your neighbourhood is changing quickly. And there is no real plan in place.

Junction Triangle: Site Walk

As part of the Planning Charrette for the Junction Triangle, there will be a Site Walk through the neighbourhood on Wednesday November 3rd. More details about the charrette are posted here.

From the organizers:

The Site Walk will take place on Wednesday November 3rd at 10AM. We will meet with the York U students at the south entrance to the West Toronto Rail Path at Dundas Street West and Sterling Road. Residents are welcome to join us to give a commentary on the history and their hopes for the neighbourhood. The site walk should last about 2 or 3 hours.

Hope to see you there.

We will be discussing our strategy to build support for the Clean Train movement in communities along the line and our plan to use the Clean Train Pledge Campaign and other strategic initiatives to pressure Premier McGuinty, who ultimately has the say.

We plan to reach out to community groups along the line, and hope that each can send a representative to learn about the pledge and take it back to their membership for review.
